Blood in semen (haematospermia) - sperm takes on a dark-red or brown color. When a true haematospermia blood enters the sperm to the egg, it epididymis, seminal vesicles, the prostate gland. When false haematospermia the blood is mixed with ejaculate in the urethra, and the sperm is painted scarlet blood. Haematospermia arises in cases of inflammatory diseases of the genital organs. In old age haematospermia may be a sign of cancer of the prostate.
